Finally it’s over. No more debates, commercials, endless campaign speeches and subsequent news reports. No more talking heads and spinning. No more polls. The only poll that counts was the one from Tuesday night. And thank goodness the best man won. Now that it is over, after a week or so of post election analysis and celebration (at least for the Democratic side) and whining on the losing side, we can go back to being one, clearly divided nation.

I know people complain about Obama, but if Romney had won, things would not be looking good. I am glad Obama won. I was watching the live updates online all last night and I am proud to say that Obama won Pennsylvania, which is where I live.
And of course other great things happened last night too; Kathleen Kane won Attorney General and she became the first woman Attorney General. Tammy Baldwin became the first openly gay person elected to Senate.
But it’s true about the United States being divided. We’re not united at all and I don’t think in the history of this country we have ever been truly united, which I think is quite sad.
You are right, it was a great night for a lot of reasons. Shows America is evolving. I think the divisions are part of growing. Our greatest strength as a country is that we have so many types of people, but that also causes great division. I really believe it will get better though. Just will take time.
